Nu Fridays

Our Shabbat Host Collective,
just for Gen Z.

What would it feel like to host a Shabbat that's entirely your own, infused with your personality and shared with people you care about? Our four-part experience just for Angelenos 21–29 is designed to help you get there.

Over four beautiful, intentionally crafted dinners in Venice Beach, we'll explore how to gather, host, and bring Shabbat to life, building confidence and community along the way. Every detail from food to flow will offer inspiration you can take home with you, all alongside a cohort of peers and inspiring facilitators.

Together, we'll dive into the art and heart of gathering – setting the table, shaping rituals, and creating a vibe that's meaningful, personal, and actually doable. Come find your seat at the table.

PART 1: THE BEGINNING
Fri., June 12

We'll begin our Shabbat journey with golden hour vibes and great company. As the light shifts, gather for a joyful, low-key evening of drinks, connection, and intention-setting. This will be our first moment to meet – new faces, new friends, and a shared experience ahead. Toast what's taking shape and set the tone for a season of warmth, learning, and celebration.

PART 2: THE HEART OF GATHERING
Fri., June 26

With Mariposa Dueñas. Explore what it means to host with care and intention. How can we create spaces where every person feels like they belong and matter? How can we be thoughtful about the details – who's invited, how they're welcomed, the energy we carry into a room? Dive into the emotional and spiritual architecture of a meaningful gathering, creating moments of deep welcome, hospitality, and heart.

PART 3: SETTING THE TABLE
Fri., July 10

With Chef Trevor Brown. Food is at the center of your Shabbat experience, and feeding others is one of the oldest forms of love. Discover how to bring meaning, creativity, and ease into preparing meals, whether you're cooking for 2 or 22.

PART 4: REIMAGINING RITUAL
Fri., July 24

With Talia Gnessin. What makes a ritual feel real, relevant, and alive? In our final session, reclaim and reinvent rituals in ways that reflect who you are and how you live. We'll demystify "rules," share traditions, and craft rituals grounded in authenticity, making Shabbat something we all look forward to returning to each week.
