"Dulce Cultura" is a vibrant celebration designed to honor Latin Jewish culture, identity, and resiliency through the sweetness that marks the new year, welcoming Latin-Jewish community members, the broader LA Jewish community, and loved ones to an intimate second-night Rosh Hashanah seder hosted in partnership with Leña, a Salvadoran home pop-up restaurant in Boyle Heights. This unique intersectional seder uplifts Central American cuisine through a specially curated menu that complements traditional New Year foods—from honey and apples to dulce de leche and tropical fruits—while creating space for participants to integrate their whole selves, bridging Latin and Jewish identities and stories as they mark the beginning of the year. Latin Jewish community members will share insightful, humorous perspectives on life, cultural identity, and the pursuit of sweetness and joy amidst adversity, fostering a sense of unity and belonging. "Dulce Cultura" welcomes the New Year with open hearts and uplifted spirits, celebrating the beautiful convergence of our intersectional communities.
